Perhaps well timed for New Year's resolutions, a fresh start, where we consider new routines, habits and goals for the year. We're perhaps slightly more malleable around this time of year, looking at learnings from the past year and how we can build on progress for a new year.

To be able to achieve those New Year's resolutions, we might need more time and more focus, so being intentional about how we spend our time means blocking out those distractions that take us away from our goals.

We all know the elephant in the room by this point, our phones. We know how distracting they can be.

Therefore make the decision, along with us, to reduce those distractions, to hide those apps on your phone you'd rather not be spending so much time on.

With Apple's iOS 18 update released in September 2024, you can now hide apps in a dedicated folder, hidden from view. Apps added here no longer show in your App Library, in notifications, or in the phone's multi-tasking manager.

We've taken this new feature, and instead of hiding apps from others (for security), we're using the feature to hide apps we feel we need on our phone but would rather use less, at least be drawn too less - social media apps vying for our attention.

Why not save yourself from the next dopamine hit and try hiding an app from yourself?
